A few notes about how I built the site.

This site has been rebuilt more times than I can remember. This is the current version.

Under the hood

• Built with Zola and written in Markdown.
• The pages are plain static HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript.
• No frontend framework. Zola builds everything before it gets uploaded.
• Source and changes are managed with Git and GitHub.

Design

I like old personal sites, pixel icons, weird buttons, and interfaces with too many little details. Most of the design came from trying things, staring at them for a while, and changing them again.

The fonts are Golos Text and Commit Mono. Fonts, icons, game covers, and the 88×31 buttons are served from the site itself.

Built to stay small

• Dark and light themes
• Responsive pages and keyboard-friendly navigation
• RSS and Atom feeds, tags, a sitemap, and search
• No analytics or advertising trackers
• A live Discord presence and now-playing card when the services are available

It probably will not look exactly like this forever.
